Dr. Wan Syafira is a lecturer at the Audiology Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she also obtained her Bachelor of Audiology in 2005. She earned her PhD from the University of Bristol, UK in 2012, with doctoral research focusing on auditory dysfunction in normally hearing tinnitus patients. Her research and clinical interests encompass the assessment and management of tinnitus and hyperacusis, age-related hearing loss, and hearing health promotion. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Wan actively provides clinical services for tinnitus and hyperacusis patients at Klinik Audiologi UKM. Dr. Wan received the Certificate in Tinnitus Management (CH-TM™) from the American Academy of Audiology and is a professional member of the American Tinnitus Association. She is also a research member of the Center for Healthy Aging and Wellness (H-CARE) at UKM, where she conducts research and provides hearing-related education and rehabilitation services for older adults.
