Senior Audiologist

Ms Darleena is among the first audiology graduates from the National University of Malaysia who began her career in 1999 as a Clinical Audiologist at UKM Hospital. Transitioning to the private sector, she pioneered comprehensive audiology services in private hospitals, introducing newborn hearing screening in 2001. She later gained expertise in hearing aid fitting and auditory rehabilitation through roles at a Hearing Aid Centre and as a trainer with a Hearing Aid Manufacturer, where she collaborated with the Malaysian Society of Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) on audiometry workshops. Since joining Prince Court Medical Centre in 2008, Ms Darleena has expanded her focus to vestibular and balance assessments for adults and children, as well as establishing Auditory Processing Disorder services. She has received advanced training in Paediatric Vestibular Assessment at Robert Debré Hospital, Paris and Vertiguard Posturography at Charité University, Berlin. Apart from her clinical responsibilities, she has also given talks to the public as well as the medical fraternity. This included a few television and radio interviews. Her passion remains with Pediatrics, electrophysiology and vestibular assessments. A former President of the Malaysian National Society of Audiologists (MANSA), she has contributed to shaping Audiology legislation and professional standards, including serving on the Allied Health Act Audiology Committee since 2008. Currently, she is a Council Member (Audiology) for the Malaysian Audiology Health Professions Council (2023-2026).
