President, Malaysian Association of Wound Clinicians (MAWC) Council member – National Wound Care Committee & Selangor State Health Department  Wound  Care Unit – Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Dr. Vilvkumaran is a leading expert in wound care with over 15 years of dedicated clinical experience where he actively champions national initiatives to improve wound management standards and education. Dr. Vilvkumaran obtained his medical degree from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), India, and completed his postgraduate 
studies in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair at Cardiff University, United Kingdom. He further completed a fellowship in wound care with the European Association of Fellows in Wound Healing and underwent advanced clinical training at the Welsh Wound Innovation Centre, Royal Gwent Hospital, St Woolos Hospital, and Cardiff Royal Infirmary. He contributes to academia as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. Internationally, Dr. Vilvkumaran serves as a council member of the Asian Wound Care Association and as the Malaysian coordinator for the IWGDF’s Train the Foot Trainer (TtFT) program and the trainer for Chronic Wounds Initiative (ICW), Germany. His clinical interests lie in diabetic foot ulcer management, with a focus on integrating advanced adjunctive therapies such as shockwave therapy, ultrasonic debridement, photobiomodulation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, laser and plasma therapy to improve healing outcomes.
